Description
Offering kapsache vastra, a garland of cotton tufts strung on thread, is part of daily and festival pooja in many Maharashtrian and Kannadiga homes, and especially during Ganeshotsav and Gauri pooja.
Each vastra here has evenly spaced cotton tufts on a strong thread, marked with kumkum and ready to offer. They are about 75 cm long and come flat-packed in a box, so the tufts keep their shape until pooja.
How to use
- Lift the vastra by both ends to keep the tufts in line.
- Offer it around the deity or the kalash as your family does.
- After the festival, many families immerse it with the murti or keep it in the mandir.
